Physical Plant
Current Projects:
The Physical Plant Team is currently working on a project in Elementary School and Willard Hall to replace
the thermostats. The current equipment is too old and parts are not available to repair so new units will
be ordered. This should result in a more comfortable environment.
The Physical Plant Team has also been working closely with the State Fair in order to repair the damage to
the baseball fields. Due to the extreme weather conditions since February, it has been a struggle but it
appears that the field is now on the road to recovery.
The Physical Plant Team is working with the woodworking program to rebuild the old waterpump house.
Upcoming Projects:
Here is a list of projects that were approved by the State Budget agency and the State legislators for
the biennium budget of July 2007 to July 2009:
- Installment of a door security system - this will eliminate the needs for keys and will provide a safer more secure environment.
- Renovation of the science labs (to meet the OSHA safety code)
- Upgrading Alumni Hall (especially the basement) due to moisture problems.
- Upgrading the electrical system in Alumni Hall for compatibility with the door security system
The requests listed below were not approved. We will try again in the Fall of 2008 for the period of July
2009 to July 2011.
- Replacement of the existing perimeter fence
- Replacement of the floor in Kratzberg gymnasium
- Renovation of the library
- Replacement of the Caskey gymnasium lockers
- Renovation of the campus police building
