Administration
Cindy Lawrence serves as Director of the Outreach Department. She works closely with the Department
of Education, local Directors of Special Educaiton, First Steps, and other agencies providing services for deaf
and hard of hearing children as well as administrating the department. As a licensed educational audiologist at
ISD since 1986, she has served as the preschool and elementary school audiologist, Director of Assessment Services

Joanie Jones functions as part of the support team in Outreach, specifically for director of Director
of Outreach. As a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Stout in 1975, Joanie has experience in retail management,

Case Conference Team
Marty Fisk serves as the secretary for the case conference team. She schedules about 500 conferences a
year. She’s been working at ISD since 1965 and knows the school well. She may be reached

Cynthia Van Manen is the second case conference coordinator. She joined the ISD staff in January 2002.
Her primary responsibility is for conferences for students in preschool and elementary. She may be reached

Carol Wild, having worked at ISD since 1978, serves as one of two case conference coordinators. She
facilitates conferences, annual case reviews and acts as liaison between the Local Education Agency and ISD.

Early Intervention and Family Life Team

Jodee Crace, Early Intervention Coordinator, has been involved in the Human Development field
for over 22 years. Currently, she networks, partners, and trains with various stakeholders in providing high
quality and unbiased comprehensive early intervention services. In addition, Jodee provides developmental

Michelle Coleman, Early Intervention Coordinator brings seven years experiance from working as a First Steps Intake Coordinator in Central Indiana. Diane Hazel Jones, who has worked at ISD since 1973, is the Family Resource Coordinator provides
a variety of services to families with Deaf and hard-of-hearing children from the age of 5 to 21. The services
include: educational visits, family workshops, and education consultations for families and professionals.

Shannon Stafford, one of the four audiologists, provides services for students from public schools
who are seen during assessments and through First Steps referrals. She may be reached

Assessment Team
Pam Burchett, a licensed social worker on the Assessment Team, has been employed at ISD since 1986.
She is the initial contact person for new families who are seeking admission into ISD or for local schools who
are interested in referring a student for an evaluation. She may be reached

Linda Charlebois received her Master's degree from Purdue University. She has served as an Educational Audiologist at the Indiana School for the Deaf (ISD) long enough to now beseing the children of some of her former students come through Middle School and HighSchool. Joyce Conner serves as secretary to the Director of Outreach and for the assessment team. She
schedules appointments for specialized testing, monitors the Central Files and handles a myriad of

Louise Fitzpatrick, having served in a variety of capacities at ISD since 1982, is the Language
Specialist for the assessment team. She assesses students' language and/or their communication system to

Janet Fuller is an Educational Consultant contracting with the Outreach department. Her focus is helping public schools develop programs for their Deaf/hard-of-hearing students using spoken English. Lisa Herbert has a M.A. degree in Developmental Psychology and Specialist degree (Psy.S) in School Psychology with specialization in working with Deaf and hard-of-hearing children. Debbie Liebrich, the third audiologist, provides audiological services primarily for students

Carolyn Pimentel has a M.A. degree in Developmental Psychology and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in School Psychology with specialization in working with Deaf and hard-of-hearing children. Speech & Language Team
Julie Buck is one of three speech-language pathologists and earned her Master's degree in
speech-language pathology in 1986. She has worked in a variety of situations involving children
and adults. Having worked at ISD since 1993, Julie provides speech services for students & on a
consultation basis. Julie is married and is the mother of three girls and a boy. She may be reached

Holly Geeslin, is an audiologist and one of three speech-language pathologists who works
with deaf and hard-of-hearing children in Indiana’s birth to three First Steps system and as a
contract SLP at the Indiana School for the Deaf. She is married to a Deaf man and has 2 daughters. She

Jacqueline D. Hall-Katter is one of three speech-language pathologists who contract with the
Indiana School for the Deaf. She has been working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students for nine years.
Jackie is the owner of her own business, Katter Speech Services. She is the mother of four children; two
of whom are hard of hearing. She specializes in children with cochlear implants, and specific language

Christine Wood has a M. A. degree in Deaf Education from McDaniel College (formerly Western Maryland College), and is certified by the American Sign Language Teacher’s Association (ASLTA) since 1996, currently at the professional level. Christine began contracting part-time with Outreach in 2000. She assesses students' language and/or their communication system to determine their needs in this area. Ruth Asher- Lynch

Mike McGeath
Cathy Pardee is a Master’s level social worker with varied duties such as helping to find community resources for parents, staff, and students; facilitating the weekly consulting psychiatric clinic and referral system; coordinating reporting of suspected child abuse and education for staff; and is working toward become registered as a play therapist. Molly Peters, school counselor on the Counseling Team, has been employed at ISD since 2000.
She provides individual, group and family counseling services with Preschool/Elementary and Middle School
students. She also provides consultation with campus wide staff concerning the students' needs. The goal
is to help students to be aware of their emotional intelligence to be become a well-being, productive

Cindy Pickering, who has worked at ISD since August 1999, is a School Counselor for Middle and
High School students. She provides varied duties such as providing one to one therapy; group therapy;
